Minimum Qualifications

• High School degree
Applicant must have excellent human relations skills and be able to work with a variety of individuals (students, instructors, administration, and the general public). Good analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to communicate effectively, good organizational skills, and the ability to work with deadlines are essential. Advanced computer skills required, including Microsoft office software (Excel, Access and Word), budget, and database management. Weekends, evenings, and occasional overnight travel are part of the work schedule for this position.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, education, human services, or related area.

Position Description
​
This is a 6-month contract position that reports directly to Treasurer.
Researches and gathers information on available scholarship programs of the community colleges and universities. 
Informs, assists and encourages students on scholarship programs application.
Core duties will include the following:

• Collect information on available scholarship eligibility criteria, timeline and application process. 

Assist scholarship application of students by
Informing students on the available scholarship programs.
Tracking student progress on the application and ensuring timely application.
Helping with essay writing.
• Work closely with Board of Directors; provide outcome reports as needed.
• Advise student mentors, students, parents, and community members on all aspects of scholarship programs.
• Collaborate with financial aid staff of colleges to determine financial aid packages.
• Collaborate with the admissions department in the tracking of admissions and scholarship applications of new students.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Board of Directors and Scholarship Committee.
