Role Overview

We are looking for a creative and technical Part-Time Application Developer to help us build and scale our digital ecosystem. You will be the primary developer responsible for building a custom Mentoring Application integrated with Discord and Notion, as well as developing and maintaining our Scholarship Intake Platform.

This is an ideal role for someone who loves finding "the right tool for the job" and enjoys building systems that directly impact students and mentors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentorship App Development: Design and implement features for our mentoring program using Discord (as the community hub) and Notion (as the database and resource center).

  • Automation & Integration: Build "glue" code and automations using tools like Zapier, Make.com, or custom Node.js/Python scripts to sync data between platforms.

  • Scholarship Platform Management: Develop and refine the user experience for our scholarship intake platform, ensuring a seamless application process for students.

  • Feature Deployment: Regularly update the mentoring app with new features like check-in bots, resource libraries, and progress trackers.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve bugs or bottlenecks in the existing workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • API Proficiency: Strong experience working with the Discord API (Discord.js or Discord.py) and the Notion API.

  • Development Languages: Proficiency in JavaScript (Node.js) and/or Python.

  • Database Management: Experience organizing and structuring data within Notion or SQL/NoSQL databases.

  • Web Basics: Knowledge of HTML/CSS and basic frontend frameworks for the scholarship platform.

  • Problem-Solving: The ability to take a manual process (like a scholarship application) and turn it into a streamlined, automated digital workflow.

Preferred Extras

  • Experience with "No-Code" automation tools (Zapier, Make, or Retool).

  • A background in UI/UX design.

  • Previous experience working with educational or non-profit organizations.

What We Offer

  • Flexibility: A part-time schedule that respects your other commitments.

  • Impact: Your work will directly support mentors and students seeking scholarships.

  • Creative Freedom: We value innovation and are open to your suggestions on the best tech stack to use.
